Democrats on the House Oversight Committee have launched an investigation into the White House security clearance process that is likely to bring a focus to how Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner was able to get access to highly classified US documents in spite of concerns that he was targeted for manipulation by foreign governments. “The Committee on Oversight and Reform is launching an in-depth investigation of the security clearance process at the White House and Transition Team in response to grave breaches of national security at the highest levels of the Trump Administration,” Reprsentative Elijah Cummings, the chairman of the committee, said in a letter to the White House on Wednesday.
